What a week...

So I went back to work full time officially this week, Logan started Kindergarten and gymnastics and Nora...well, she didn't get hurt. Technically I went back to work full time last Thursday when we had work days but I don't count it until I'm actually dealing with children. The gods did seem to be smiling on me a bit as I only had 8-9 kids all week, one though was very attached to me but even still spent a lot of the day crying. By lunchtime I was drained and deaf, I also stepped in poop, had to scrape poop off of a child's shoe and then my usual dealings with poop. Suffice to say it was a crappy week.

Logan loves Kindergarten...so far we have had a lecture on vertebrates and invertebrates, she held a tarantula (it tickled) and has learned about land and water formations. I think she's done more in one week than I did in twelve years of public school. On the downside, I think she is realizing that her friend Julia is no longer going to be at school with her and that made her a bit pensive, but I'm sure we'll be seeing them every weekend or so. Gymnastics was a huge hit too, except for the beam, she said "I wasn't too sure about that one, its kinda high" I was surprised that they'd start a bunch of 5 year olds out on the high beam rather than on the ground and work up, but what do I know, I just play hockey. She also discovered that her swimming skills are better than she thought and she is venturing into the "deep" water (3'6") though tonight she took a bad fall off the side and bumped her tush pretty hard, we're hoping it isn't broken...once again, my genetics hard at work!

Nora has been very talkative and expressive. Today the green eyed monster reared its head a bit at school with the child in my class that clings to me. Normally Nora is off doing her thing and doesn't pay much mind to me but I think seeing someone else being with me bothered her somewhat so she spent a long time sitting on my lap and hugging me. Not to push away affection from my child but after a while I felt like a jungle gym.

Charles and I are going to dinner to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary tomorrow night, dinner, maybe a movie and the chance to sleep past 6 AM on Sunday, what more could I ask for? Oh yeah, there's hockey practice Sunday morning but at least we've gotten 11:00 ice time instead of 8.
